Ascension Parish Sheriff candidate C. J. Matthews attacks former boss (incumbent Sheriff Bobby Webre) in alleging Malfeasance in Office, cover-up of sexting and receiving pornographic images by former Deputy Fred Corder.

C. J. Matthews, candidate for Ascension Parish Sheriff in the election on October 14, 2023.

As evidenced by his campaign website, C. J. Matthews is a candidate for Ascension Parish Sheriff.

On January 20, 2019, Matthews alleged misconduct on the part of high-ranking Ascension Parish Sheriff officials entailing a cover-up by those officials regarding a former Sheriff’s Deputy, Fred Corder, who also served as a school resource officer at Donaldsonville High School.

Matthews was very unhappy about those officials’ handling of Corder’s alleged extensive texting, to include sexually-explicit photographs of a 16-year-old Donaldsonville High School female student, which transpired from late February of 2018 through early March of 2018.

Today’s feature is installment one of a multi-part series we’ll be publishing during which Matthews voices his concerns and provides extensive documentation to back up his concerns.  Here’s our first interview of this series:

July 26, 2023:  Ascension Parish Sheriff candidate C. J. Matthews begins to outline what all took place in 2018 entailing alleged inappropriate sexually-explicit texting (to include explicit sexual images of a 16-year-old Donaldsonville High female) and the subsequent cover-up Matthews alleges current Sheriff Bobby Webre, former Sheriff Jeff Wiley, and others engaged in to protect Corder from criminal prosecution.

As we indicate in the video, we are going to provide a table which gradually expands to include all of Matthews’ documentation (of which he supplied a plethora which we reviewed before determining to proceed with this series).  Here is that table with the first two documents referenced on the video above:
