WBRZ’s Nakamoto covers arraignments of officers on Greene trial to include video from Sound Off Louisiana’s coverage of Saturday’s peaceful protest.

WBRZ’s Chris Nakamoto, on the 6:00 p.m. news broadcast of Tuesday, April 11, 2023, placed the Sound Off Louisiana logo on full display right before introducing video footage of Ms. Mona Hardin, Ronald Greene’s mother, from the peaceful protest of Saturday, February 8, 2023 leading up to today’s arraignments of law-enforcement officers criminally charged in the arrest and in-custody death of Greene on May 10, 2019.

As we mentioned in our most-recent feature, today (Tuesday, April 11, 2023) was the day of arraignments for the five law-enforcement officers (four LSP Troopers and one Union Parish Sheriff Deputy) criminally charged relating to the arrest and in-custody death of Ronald Greene.

On it’s 6:00 p.m. newscast this evening, WBRZ (Channel 2 in Baton Rouge)’s Chris Nakamoto, who is the station’s lead investigative reporter, and who was recently honored, along with all of his WBRZ support team, with the highly-prestigious Columbia University duPont Excellence in Investigative Journalism Award for his and the entire team’s extensive and relentless reporting on the Ronald Greene matter, covered the arraignments of those law-enforcement officers.

Nakamoto even utilized footage from Saturday’s (February 8, 2023) peaceful protest captured by Sound Off Louisiana, and he credited us with providing that footage.  Let’s take a look:

4/11/23 6:00 p.m. WBRZ newscast with the lead feature being Chris Nakamoto’s coverage of the arraignments of the four (4) LSP Troopers and one (1) Union Parish Deputy who have been charged in the arrest and in-custody death of Ronald Greene.

Not surprisingly, we’ll have another feature coming out on Louisiana State Police in a matter of days.  We think everyone will find it quite intriguing!
