With no Democratic “KCP Moment” in Governor’s race and non-Landry Republicans too dense to deploy the one strategy that may get one of them into the runoff, we’re giving a “back-handed endorsement” to Jeff Landry in the hope that maybe he can rise above 50 percent in the primary.

As Burns indicated in the video above, the theme song for this entire Governor’s race (if one can even call this a “race”) is, in his firm opinion, Bruce Hornsby and the Range’s 1986 hit, “That’s just the way it is.”  Here it is:


Bruce Hornsby and the Range’s 1986 hit, “That’s just the way it is.”  It certainly seems to be the most appropriate theme song for the 2023 Governor’s “race.”
