The Louisiana State Police Commission became a body of total paralysis at a special meeting of Monday, February 20, 2017 when Commissioner Calvin Braxton openly pondered just how liable the Commission may be on the allegedly forced resignation of former Executive Director Cathy Derbonne at its regular meeting of January 12, 2017. wanting to take a vote on the resignation but being told “nothing is official until he puts
it in writing to the Governor.” Phillips changed his mind and remained an LALB member for
another 16 months.
