At a gubernatorial forum conducted on the campus of Southern University on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, Republican candidate U. S. Sen. David Vitter forcefully defended his ad’s use of the word “thug” in one of his campaign commercials entailing crime in Louisiana.  Contrary to the forum moderator’s opinion, Vitter insisted the word “thug” is not synonymous with the word “n—–” (a word the moderator used in full).  Sen. Vitter’s opponent, State Rep. John Bel Edwards, D-Amite, declined to attend the forum:

On Monday, November 9, 2015, appearing before the Baton Rouge Press Club in a gubernatorial forum, U. S. Sen. David Vitter, the Republican in the race, stated that his campaign filed formal paperwork, complete with sworn affidavits against operatives of his Democratic opponent, John Bel Edwards.  Vitter alleges the Edwards campaign operatives “paid for false testimony from witnesses against me.”  Video of Vitter’s statements and John Bel Edwards’ response follows:

Following on heels of Treasurer Kennedy’s resounding endorsement of David Vitter, Burns follows 6 days later with a 7-minute “fire and brimstone sermonette.”

On Friday, October 30, 2015, Louisiana Treasurer John Neely Kennedy gave a resounding endorsement of Republican candidate for Governor, David Bruce Vitter.  Afterward, he indicated one of his frustrations of this campaign has been a lack of motivation and enthusiasm.  To that end, Robert Burns conducted the following 7-minute “fire and brimstone sermonette” six days later, Thursday, November 5, 2015:
