Broussard expresses optimism on Louisiana DOGE and Sen. Miguez; outlines “irrefutable proof” GOHSEP’s Browning knew of $450,000+ due him yet she feigned ignorance at Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office meeting.

Louisiana State Sen. Blake Miguez (R-New Iberia).

In today’s Sound Off Louisiana feature, Billy Broussard expresses optimism for Louisiana’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) regarding identifying fraud, waste, and abuse in Louisiana State government operations.

Broussard expresses profound confidence in Louisiana State Sen. Blake Miguez’s abilities to assist with identifying and cutting such governmental bloat identified by DOGE.  Miguez was the keynote speaker at the annual Solutions Summit of the Pelican Institute, which was held yesterday (Tuesday, April 1, 2025) at the downtown Baton Rouge Hilton.

Also, very importantly, Broussard provides, in the form of an email, what he contends is irrefutable proof that then-GOHSEP Deputy Director Lynne Browning had been “fully briefed” on the Indian Bayou project prior to an important meeting at the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office on February 6, 2019.

To support Broussard’s claim of Browning having been “briefed” on his matter and his contention that an additional $453,000 of work was identified for which he should have been paid, Broussard supplied this June 29, 2015 email from former GOHSEP’s Deputy Director Mark DeBosier to Browning clearly referencing the $453,000 in additional work.

From the email:

• Version 1: $453,027.60 {Total)
To account for additional eligible debris identified during the work

Here’s the feature, during which Broussard stuns everyone in the room as he plays a recording of DeBosier bragging of his ability to get the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office to, “just close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears, and we make sure there’s no fingerprints on it.”:

Broussard outlines his contention that then-GOHSEP Deputy Director Lynne Browning had been fully briefed on the fact that $453,000 in additional eligible debris had been identified for which Broussard was entitled to be paid but that Browning nevertheless feigned ignorance of that fact at a February 6, 2019 meeting with the Legislative Auditor’s Office at which Sen. Blake Miguez (then a State Representative) attended in its entirety. [Note:  CLICK HERE to listen to a slightly longer, and MUCH clearer, version of DeBosier’s commentary].

As we state at the conclusion of the above video, hold on to your socks for Installment Two of this fascinating miniseries!

  1. so Louisiana has a d.o.g.e. now? what a laughable thing to say. just because these low lifes say something does not mean it is accurate or true. 2020 state government budget was 30.0 billion dollars. 2025 it is 43.0 billion. The state lost people at a clip of 250k residents during that span. Time to wake up math majors. They are robbing us blind and there is no doge. Hook up Musks software and let’s watch the bells and whistles and smoke go off! They are all crooks man. Do the math. Our roads are last in America! No jobs. No quality of life. No prospect for future success. This is what we get because it is what we deserve. The media is bought and paid for. Thank you for trying but we need more coverage of the graft and outright theft of our tax dollars. There is nothing to show for them.

  2. Could not agree more with HG!!

The Legislative Auditor’s Office forms the nucleus of Louisiana’s DOGE:

GIven DeBosier’s commentary on how easily he got the Auditor to “close their eyes, put their fingers in their ears, and we make sure there’s no fingerprints on it,” God help us!

Just watching that WAFB feature, they aren’t even going to issue a report until the freaking end of the year!

  3. All politicians lie cheat and steal they just don’t get caught. Sad we are taken advantage of so badly by all of them and they just lie with a straight face and say see you at church

  4. Lynn Browning summed it up,” you can’t do business in this state without fraud”. Broussard outlines at least $450,000 in fraud and no one cares. Not LSP, not GOHSEP, not the Office of Legislative Auditors, not the politicians, not FEMA, not the judges, not even the governor. Money is the easiest fraud to track because the money goes somewhere. There are records. Someone got that money, someone that didn’t do the work. It literally would take a fraud investigator hours to figure out where the money went. But no one cares. Maybe Miguez cares, but he has a bigger problem. The level of fraud in Louisiana is so massive that if he were to try to DOGE it, it would likely crash the economy. This state is the only place in the U.S. where fraud is measured as a percentage of GDP. But maybe… just maybe someone will pay attention this time. Maybe, but I’m not holding my breath.

  5. Landry will line his pockets. Ow that he is a one termer. He has his marching orders. Forewarned is forearmed.

  6. Looks like Little Huey clownfish is definitely in bed with trial lawyers. When you fly on Gordon M.’s jet to his ranch to talk tough tort reform…you may be a liar and a sociopath with respect to your voters. Sad that any media person would shill for Jeff Landry at this point. I see that his office is upset you bring up his problems. Well just email them back and say that he should quit lying and being disingenuous at best. Expose the scam artist grifter. He is now cashing in projects early so he can steal. Wake up! You have been warned.
